So, basically girls do well learning inside or outside and boys, for the most part, do better outside. Girls have an instinctive nature to nurture and boys do not. Girls are good for Earth and boys are bad for Earth. Just kidding.
I wish every principle and high level education personnel could read this article and others like it. Then we could get rid of this idea that being outside is a waste of time. It is a common belief in the school environment that if you are outside with your students you are a bad/lazy teacher. Time should be spent sitting quietly, facing the teacher and writing down what is said or written on the board.
Being in this program I now have a lot more resources to give me the courage to take future classes outside a lot more of the time. It has been nice having this time to reflect on my teaching while at the same time learning new skills to implement next year.

It is definitely not a waste of time to be outside. My students loved it and were engaged when we were outdoors. Less off task behaviors, you know. I bet your students love it too...
